Published 8/25/2002 Last spring I have replaced Cup of Baikal from Irkutsk to Bratsk.
Bratsk is situated at the biggest water reservoir of Angara river. There is the biggest water electric power station in the world. I have found excellent conditions for icesailing. There is 1,5 meter thickness ice field from beginning of April to middle of May. At night the temperature was -17C and afternoon +10C. No cracks, no ice-packs, no fishermans.

I made The Championship of Russian for Ice Optimist. Alexander Matyuhin was the top.
Maybe Bratsk will be one of the spring camp for young iceboaters.
Cup of Baikal 2003 will be proximally at May 1-9,2003 The 2004 Championship of Russian DN and Ice Optimist will be organised in Bratsk.
